Another week without school....

This week was a strong week for all of us living here in Ivory coast. You can find more information on :http://topics.pe.com/topic/Laurent_Gbagbo.

Our English teacher gave us an assignment to finish reading the book Night. In History we had to read about the Unification of Germany and to answer a couple of question which I found really interesting. In Math we had to take a 10 question quiz which was very simple and after taking the quiz we had to scan it and send it back to our teacher. In current event we were sent article, which we need to summarize and send to our teacher by Monday, and you will be seeing my summary on the blog!

The thing i really enjoyed this week was me talking with my teacher. I talked on Skype with my Math teacher which was very helpful because I was able to ask him a couple of question.

Hey Kevin, Getting better! I can see you are starting to get the hang of this, and I can hear a little bit more of your personal voice and opinions!

The link you provided was quite interesting - and frightening! Very provocative, too, since there are such strong opinions on both sides of this issue.

It would be interesting to hear more about what YOU think about some of this. There are different ways you could approach this:

1. Perhaps take one of the stories and talk about it specifically.
2. Take this site and compare it to another site that represents the other side of the news. Talk to the readers about how news can take one story and each side can come up with completely different perceptions. What's that about?
3. Go to another persons' site in our class who has a different point of view and comment on what they say, pointing out what you have found in this article.

(Be courteous of course! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it is good when people from different points of view can have a civil discussion. Blogs can be a place where that can happen.)

Finally, I want you to try using the LINK feature that lets you attach a link to a WORD. Watch this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0klgLsSxGsU and then in the next post, try using what you have learned about adding links attached to words.

Keep up the good work!
